Fiji Wedding - The Warwick Fiji

I received a mail from a friend of mine, about a year ago. The information contained here was his daughter who happens to be my god-daughter – holding her wedding in about a month time, the location seemed strange.

WARWICK – FIJI
The first time, I heard of this luxury hotel.

I did attend the wedding and below is a review of the fabulous time I had there.

Warwick hotel is a subsidiary of the Warwick hotel group. It sits along a stretch of golden sand beach and crystal-clear lagoons in the heart of Fiji’s coral coast. It is the ideal place to take a short break from the hustle of the every-day life and, temporarily get lost in tropical bliss with the world’s friendliest people. At Warwick, memories await you – a potential memory of a Fijian wedding (like I did experience), an epic nightlife, a great tennis game played, just about anything to last you enough for a return visit.

ROOMS
I did take a small tour of all available rooms to make a proper befitting choice.

Garden View Room
Located at the first floor of the Nadi and Suva wings. It accommodates two adults and two kids or just three adults alone. It opens up out onto a superb landscaped garden. Room size of about 26 square metres. Air conditioning, tea and coffee making facility, mini fridge, flat screen TV and so many more.

Superior Garden View Room
Located at the ground floor of the Suva wing. It accommodates a maximum of two adults and three children or just three adults. It comes with a shower tub, a nanny (available on request), air conditioning, massage pad, flat screen TV, etc.

Ocean View Rooms
The ocean view rooms features are a soothing décor and a lovely view. It can seat two adults and two kids or just three adults alone. The bedding options come either of two double bed or a queen bed and a single bed. It comes with a shower tub, a nanny (available on request), air conditioning, massage pad, flat screen TV, etc.

Warwick Suites – it is quite similar to the deluxe rooms but more sophisticated than that.

Coral Coast
The Coral Coast is a region filled with aquatic life and views; I enjoyed the experience by visiting all of the top recommended day trips by the tour guides. As the hotel guest, I got to experience everything from metropolitan sophistication in the capital city of Suva to mountainous villages, alive with traditional Fijian culture, and of course, the gorgeous beaches that made Fiji vacations famous.

Things to know before visiting Hawaii

So you finally decided to take that vacation you’ve been eyeing for months or even years now. That’s great! But before you pack your bags and catch a flight to the heaven-on-earth place that is Hawaii, you should at least be aware of some basic facts.

Hawaii is a US state 2,397 miles west-southwest of San Francisco, consisting of eight main islands (Oahu, Big Island, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau, Kahoolawe), it’s capital being Honolulu, with other lesser islands which are administratively part of the state. The official languages of the state are English and Hawaiian (the only state in the union with two official languages) and due to it’s mild, pleasant year-round weather, tourists are popular in the area throughout the year. The summer months and major holidays are the most common times for foreigners to visit, however, especially when the rest of the United States are looking to escape the unfriendly winter weather. First record of visitors to the group of islands was of a sailor, Captain John Cook sometime in the eighteenth century and since then Hawaii has gradually grown to be a popular travel destination for tourists.

Here are some important things to know for a soon-to-be tourist of Hawaii –
Basic communication skills in the local language
Yes, the English language is one of the official languages of Hawaii, but it wouldn’t hurt to learn a bit of the charming, indigenous language – Hawaiian, right? Most likely, you’ll be able get by with plain ol’ English but a bit of Hawaiian in your communication can be a plus for you in the books of the friendly natives. So here are a few of the frequently used words; aloha means “hello”, “goodbye” and “love”, mahalo means “thank you”, Ae means “yes” e.t.c.  A fair warning though, in your bid to impress the locals, do not over-do it and try to speak the pidgin which is used by a lot of locals in everyday conversations unless you’re in a situation where the locals are trying to teach you some phrases (they consider it condescending).

Best time to visit
Though tourists are popular year round in Hawaii, there are basically two factors that should influence your choice of when to visit: the weather and peak tourist seasons. In general, Hawaii is known to have two weather seasons:  a wet season (November-March) and a dry season (June-September). We know that Hawaii is one of the wettest spots on the planet so it’s advisable to go within the dry months and if you must go in the wet season, best plan your trip around the island’s leeward side (the side of the island not facing the trade winds) which has better chances of staying dry. As essential as weather is the popular tourist season which can make your vacation miserable or pleasantly memorable. The peak tourist season (around US school holidays, summer and Christmas breaks), due to the high frequency of tourist influx from the mainland generally affects everything – prices shoot up, traffic is almost as bad, beaches and other tourist spots feel overcrowded. If you really must go during those periods, consider heading to Big Island or Molokai.

Affordable accommodation facilities
It goes without saying that plans for accommodation during the vacation should be made before the trip. No-one wants to go through the hassle of scrounging for hotel rooms or boarding houses after a 5-hour flight. Looking for a reliable travel agency that can make necessary, economical accommodation preparations with minimal stress? A particular brand comes to mind - Aqua Travel Group. The agency provides impressive Hawaii packages with attractive inclusions to suit the preference and budget of their clients with providing a hundred and one percent satisfaction as one of their core values, they are the smart, nay, perfect choice to plan your vacation to Hawaii.

Hawaii driving tips
Renting a car during your stay is almost unavoidable, so it would be really prudent to book ahead of time to improve chances of getting a good bargain. The best rates are usually found in Oahu and Maui. When visiting remote sections on an island, always make sure to fill up your gas tank as you might not find a gas station when you need one. Try not to be an impatient driver as most local drivers are really courteous to other road users, especially runners and cyclists, so avoid honking impatiently and try to enjoy the ocean view and warm breeze of the island. Sadly, car break-ins are quite common in Hawaii, so try not to leave any valuables behind in the car.

What to do
Hawaii is filled with lots of beautiful attractions, it’s just so hard to see them all. Each island with its own highlights and different scenery; shopping in the markets of Oahu and enjoying the beaches; Maui, where you can enjoy the splendid waterfalls and hike in nature’s splendor; Molokhai, with its pleasant natives and the famed luau shows; there’s the scenic drives, lava viewing, beaches and even skiing in Big Island. You could also sign up for the organized tours where you can visit and learn about some of the historical sites in Hawaii if that is your sort of thing. Needless to say, there is never a dry moment on the islands of Hawaii.

Armed with these useful tips, be rest assured you can have a fun, hitch-free trip filled with beautiful experiences in Hawaii. Hawaii waits for you with open arms.

Tips to enjoy Fiji with kids

Planning a trip to Fiji with the kids could be a tough one. Having to decide whether to stay on the mainland or island can be hard. The idea of hopping straight on a boat with the kids after a plane trip wouldn’t be the best no matter the destination. Spending a night on the mainland and then heading out again in the morning wouldn’t be the best idea either, because of the stress of packing.

You can decide to stick to the mainland and do some day trips out to the Fiji Islands. Here are loads of activities you could do and have a blissful Fiji experience with the kids.

Resort Hopping
Regardless of signs that says, “Hotel guests  only”, you would still have a ball hopping into the Bula bus around the 7 resorts it stops, to jump into the hotel pools. You will only have to be on high alerts so as not to lose the kids to both ends of the pools.

Mud Bathing
Going to Sabeto hot springs and mud pool is a must do Fiji holiday experience. The kids would enjoy being coated in the heating mud and you will also enjoy the warmth of the hot bath to wash it off.
The mud spa ritual entails entering the thick muddy pool first and relax. Hop out and bake yourself in the sun and allow it to dry before hopping into the mud bath and then over to the hot springs to clean up. It is sure a family bonding experience. Aqua Mud Pool tour recommended to all travelers.

Zipline and Waterfalls
Zipline Fiji including Private transfers with Aqua Tours Fiji is the Best Adventure Trip which adds extra value to your tour. You will head out to Sabeto Valley to experience the amazing zipline and waterfalls. Experience the scenic drive, the kids will enjoy the adventure trip up in the mountains.

Island Cruising and Day Trips
Taking trips with the kids to different islands would be such a blissful one for the family. The islands offers fun filled activities to keep your adrenaline popping.

Board the Yasawa Islands Explorer from Port Denarau for the Island sightseeing cruise, Tivua Island day Cruise,  exclusive atoll surrounded by a circle of white sandy beach and 500 acres of coral gardensor or spend the entire day at Malamala Beach Club, world’s first beach club located on its very own island, just 25 minutes from Port Denarau. Return Private transfers from your Resort to Port Denarau Terminal with Aqua Tours Fiji South sea cruises to the outer islands can also be a wonderful experience for the family.

Combo Sightseeing and Island Dinner

Full day adventure, visit the Pottery Village, this is your only chance to witness how the Fijian ladies demonstrate the making of pottery and sculptor. Pottery Making! This art has seen a renaissance of late, and you will find Nakabuta-made bowls, plates, and other items in handicraft shops all over town. Visit to Sand dunes and take the sunset cruise late in the afternoon to Robinson Crusoe Island  for traditional island kava ceremony with a difference by the sunset bonfire, Lovo and the Traditional Fire Walking takes place. Dinner is then served consisting of Island Roast Feast of Roast Pork, Roast Beef, vegetables & local Fijian dishes, then Polynesian cultural dance, knife & spectacular fire dance show. Why you need to pack your bags and go to Fiji

Fiji is a place for adventurous activities, and the number of people who have felt sorry for visiting Fiji is second to none. It such an amazing experience in Fiji, from the ocean, sand dune, sky diving, zip lining. It is such a glorious stereotype as it sounds.

Fiji is an archipelago of more than 330 islands situated in the southeast Pacific Ocean. The Yasawa island group and the Mamanuca Islands being the most popular Island tourist destination.

Here’s the best 10 reasons to get yourself to Fiji, as soon as possible.
The Best snorkeling place in the World Fiji provides ample opportunities to snorkel your way around clear sapphire water and catch the sight of the ever-vibrant reef marine life.

Activities…
Zip Lining facing the clouds while you glide through the lush green forest in Fiji. Jungle walk, White water rafting, Such adventurous activity.

All the activities
There are so much more activities in Fiji other gliding through the forest. From water sports to on-shore activities, there are numerous things to do whilst you visit Fiji. Some very interesting activities include waterfall swimming, bilibili rafting, rainforest trek, kayaking, zip-lining and so much more.

“Fiji Time”
‘Fiji time’. It’s the Island’s culture. Away from your scheduled lifestyle follow ‘Fiji time’ and live life at it best. The concept of time is encouraged to be forgotten. Fijians find pleasure in living for today. Things just move.

Try the Fresh Fruit of the Island
Coconut all day around. Breathing the air of coconut at every hour. There is a food in Fiji called Kokoda made of raw fish salad in coconut milk. Such amazing stuff.

Home of happiness, the Friendliest people on earth
A warm ‘Bula’ welcome awaits you in Fiji greeting. You will honestly find it hard to meet someone that doesn’t smile or wave at you to welcome you home to their beautiful island.

Experience Nature to the fullest
Fiji was an untouched paradise for a long time before the western world found it routes to her. However, there are still many parts of the country that are completely in their natural state, giving you the opportunity to view nature in its purest form. Whilst exploring Fiji, you could swim with the marine wildlife, sift through shells on the beach and watch resort staff gather coconut to make coconut cream.

Your Appreciation
Though the Fijian economy has come a long way over the past years, there are still families in remote villages living with very little. There are many programs worth looking into to contribute to remote villages on the island.

Relax, and enjoy Fiji
Fijians have this thing for enjoyment, I mean they are the best at it. You know, forgetting reality and enjoying the snail- like pace of the island.
